Stay Black and Live - The Stream

This year’s livestream will be aired on multiple platforms and feature musical performances by J. Millz, Shelbi Mitchell, Billy Blunt, Charmin Greene, and Antonio Dionisio. The program will also include a conversation with Austin-based scholars about contemporary liberation practices and the legacy of Juneteenth.

Juneteenth Central Texas Parade

This year the Museum and Six Square will participate in the parade organized

by Greater East Austin Youth Association (G.E.A.Y.A.). The short bus will we wrapped with our Stay Black & Live logo and we will be passing out water, stickers/buttons, candy, and more to parade observers.

Stay Black & Live – Community Kickback

This family friend event will feature a Black makers market, games, museum tours, genealogy workshops, quilt making, community garden tour, and free food, and fund for all ages.

Soul Food Truck Festival

Soul Food Truck Fest (#SFTF) will season up the state’s traditional festival lineup on Saturday,  June 18, 2022. Texas Black-owned food trucks will converge on the campus of Huston-Tillotson in the heart of East Austin in a celebration of African-American food, community, culture and heritage.

Every year GEAYA hosts a Juneteenth festival at Rosewood and Boggy Creek Park that features live entertainment, vendors, food, and fireworks @ 9:30 pm.

Sunday, 6/19

Stay Black & Live – The Festival

On Sunday, June 19th from Noon - 9pm, SB&L will turn-up the volume with a day long mini-music festival hosted by Riders Against the Storm. Our line-up includes: Ivy Rootz, Open 2.0, Mama Duke, WC Clark, Stretch Musik, Chakeeta B, Teeta, DJ Eli Arbor, DJ Bad Apple, and Quentin and the Past Lives. Join us on the freedom lawn from noon til dusk and enjoy delicious food served up by some of Austin's best Black-owned food trucks.
